There’s nothing like a little recess-worthy regression to make exercise more fun. And according to the experts who know such things, jumping rope (when done on a soft surface) has all the cardio benefits of jogging without the wear and tear on your joints that pounding the concrete brings. So put on an old Jackson Five song and hop around.
Using a pair of pliers and a flathead screwdriver, pull apart the bottom of a marker (the end opposite the tip), and dig out the guts and tip with a lever motion. Once the innards are out, remove the cap.
Repeat on another marker.
Using the wire cutters, snip the wire to your desired length. Thread the wire through the tip of the marker and tie a knot at the end to keep it from slipping out. Repeat on the other side.
Bust a move.
To figure out how long your jump rope should be, loop the speaker wire around your hands into a U shape and jump over it. The wire should just graze the floor.
