Good Grains

Replicate Something’s Hiding in Here’s faux-bois bathroom by adding painted-on woodgrain to your walls

ingredients

  • 2 contrasting colors of high gloss latex paint
  • Wood slats

tools

  • Wood graining tool
  • Paint rollers
  • Paint trays

MAKE IT

  1. Paint the slats with the first color and let dry completely.

  2. Working one at a time, paint each slat with the second color and immediately drag the wood graining tool through the wet paint down the length of the slat, gently rocking as you go to vary the wood grain effect.

  3. Set slats aside to dry.

  4. Once dry, hang the slats on your walls.

  5. Voila! “Wood paneling.”
