I’m so, so thrilled to e-meet all of you lovely ReadyMakers, and even more excited to wax on in this forum about a topic that’s super close to my heart—good, smart design. As a lover of all things form (and a great deal of function!), I can say that design is what makes me jump out of bed in the morning.*

So, a bit about me. I’m a freelance design writer by trade and social media maven for sport. At any point in my day, you can find me doing one of 8,000 things: Praising great art and internet finds on my blog Design for Mankind, rounding up beautiful home decor ideas on ShelterPop, hammering nails on DIY Life, planning parties on Holidash, donning summer dresses on AOL Shopping and helping internet business thrive over at BAKERY. I’m also normally Twittering my days away and dreaming of fun, new social media surprises for AOL’s design blogs.
So, because I spend a whole lotta hours online (which is great inspiration folder, but not so great when it comes to managing my time!), I’m naturally drawn to design finds that save time in my daily routine. Of course, I thought I’d kick off my column with a few faves laying around my own home:

Expect to see more inspiring design finds right here, three times a week. It’s like your weekly dose of calcium, but wayyy better.
See you then!
*Really, it’s true. Without a well-designed alarm clock, waking by dawn isn’t nearly as fun, is it?
